Heyyy!
Well, today, 27th of March 2010, I went to the 8th Bloodmobile Organiser's seminar. It was held at the Re! Hotel which was located at Chinatown.
The BloodMobile Organiser's seminar is an event to conclude Blood Drive & Blood Donor Recruitment for the year of 2009. It is also and event to thank various organisations, schools and corporate companies for their support to the Singapore Red Cross Society on Blood Donation. It too is an event where the Health Science Authority (HSA) provided updates on blood donation.
It was an engaging and inspiring event as the seminar provided alot of insights on blood donation. For example, each unit of blood can save up to 3 lives. And all it takes to save three lives is just 30 minutes of your time. 30 minutes = 1 unit of blood = 3 lives saved. Wow.
Various organisations shared their experience on Blood Drive so that everyone can learn from each other so as to ensure that the blood bank always have sufficient amount of blood.
Honestly, after the seminar, I was very inspired not only to donate blood but to organise better blood drive for SP in the near future. FYI, SP Red Cross organised two blood drive last year and managed to get about 500 units of blood in total. That's equivalent to 1500 lives saved.
So, if you can make a difference in saving three lives in 30 minutes, why not donate blood?
